REGIONAL DIRECTOR SOUTH ASIA AND NEPALI DIASPORA:
Rev. Sonam Kabo Update 2023:
Sonam pastors a church in the city of Kathmandu, which now has 4 Elders, 5 Deacons and 9 Deaconesses who are fully equipped with the teachings of BMI materials to serve in the local church.
The church has recently planted a daughter church in another location of the Kathmandu. There are more than 35 new believers attending this daughter church. It has a plan and vision to plant 5 new churches by 2030.
Sonam and Jonathan Burnham have been friends since they were both in their 20's. Sonam and his wife, Rita, have been faithful to the Lord all these years and are recognized Christian leaders in all of Nepal.
Updates from 2023:
Sonam taught BTMP (Biblical Training and Mentoring Program) to 18 young key local Church leaders.
He conducted a 3-day Pastors’ training conference teaching the BMI 7 Steps of Christian Living lessons and some lessons from the BMI practical priorities. There were 28 Pastors of different denominations from 5 Regions of Nepal.
For many years now, Sonam and Rita have traveled to the UAE and have taught BMI training conferences with Nepali churches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In November 2023, Sonam returned once again to teach a part of a pastors’ conference in United Arab Emirates organized by UAE pastors’ group.
Sonam is also working with a key pastor regarding training in India.
Sonam continues to spend more time investing in young Christian leaders in Nepal with Bible study and outreach time with an intention to disciple them holistically.

REGIONAL DIRECTOR WOMEN'S MINISTRY - SOUTH ASIA AND NEPALI DIASPORA: Mrs. Rita Kabo
Rita is a special and talented lady. She holds a law degree from a university in India and is a leader among women in Nepal. She has also had the opportunity to meeting with the President of Nepal regarding religious rights.
Updates from 2023:
Rita traveled to the United Arab Emirates and spoke at four different churches in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Allain. All of these churches are Nepalese speaking. Rita was able to share from the Word of God as well as from some of the BMI materials.
Rita conducted a one-day seminar at the Presbyterian Church in Kathmandu on Sue Burnham's book Living with Your Emotions. There were about 100 ladies in attendance.
In October she was invited to be one of the speakers for the Biennial Conference of the All Gurkha Baptist Churches of Nagaland India, where she grew up. There were around 400 in attendance representing 40 churches. She also shared with the leadership the exciting ministry of BMI.
Rita started four groups of ladies from her church. Each group slowly and carefully studied the 7 Steps of Christian Living. After all the groups completed the training, they held a fun celebration together! The 7 Steps was not just a material that the ladies used for Bible study, but Rita was happy to see that they incorporated it into their personal lives!
In addition to all of this, Rita, led a seminar at a church in Kathmandu on the BMI material, Technology and Your Family. Although her seminar was supposed to have ladies in attendance, several pastors from the church wanted to join. It went so well and the pastors found it so useful, they want to teach it to the entire church!
