Leaders from Six Countries in East Africa Trained

In 2014, Jonathan was introduced to Emmanuel Ndolimana through his daughter, Taylor, at Wheaton College. As a young man in Rwanda, Emmanuel experienced great loss and pain when a militia group killed thirty-two of his family members during the Rwandan genocide. Despite this trauma, God protected and prepared Emmanuel for ministry. With theological training in Africa and at Wheaton College, he is now a key leader throughout East Africa. Aided by BMI Regional Director Dr. Vitaly Sorokun, who continues to raise up young African leaders through his international church in Ukraine, Emmanuel is training local leaders using the BMI curriculum. He is also involved with BMI’s partner ministry, Sustainable Medical Missions, which trains Christian doctors in the prevention and treatment of Neglected Tropical Diseases.

In October of this year, Jonathan began the first installment of a three-year program for top Christian leaders from the countries of Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Liberia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Each representative will go back to his country to train pastors, seminary teachers, and others.
