Women’s Conference Western Nepal

 
BMI National Director, Sonam Kabo and his wife, Rita, trained in Western Nepal.  Rita taught Sue Burnham’s, Living With Your Emotions, and Sonam taught the  7 Steps of Christian Living to 16 pastors of this region.
 
One of the highlights of the Women’s Conference was hearing an encouraging testimony of one of the participants, Gita Gurung, a young mother of two children. Gita has not had an easy life, marrying a non-christian man made life very difficult for her.  It was only recently when her husband left for the middle east that she had a little more freedom to attend church and other conferences. She was able to participate in last year’s Women’s Conference where Rita taught the Living With Your Emotion lessons. The teachings made a great impact on her life, as she felt encouraged, refreshed and more confident with her walk with the Lord as well as a new outlook towards her family life. In between the conference last year and this year, God worked miracles in Gita’s life, her husband in the Middle East had become Christian through a fellow Christian Nepali worker. Though her husband still feels uncomfortable with her being out of the house, she was more determined than ever to participate in this year’s conference, with renewed strength and a zeal to learn and know more.
 
We are so thankful for the faithful ministry of Sonam and Rita!  Please pray for them as they will be traveling a lot over the next several months, including back to the United Arab Emirates.

BTMP continues, even in the most challenging time in the history of the Nepalese Church of Nepal !

It is a great joy and honor for Rita and me to be able to share about what God has been doing in and through us in Nepal with all of our fellow servants of the Lord Jesus Christ – the returning King.

Despite all political, religious challenges in Nepal and the natural calamities as well due a heavy monsoon season in this part of the world, nothing could stop us from providing BTMP training courses for local church pastors and leaders into different regions of Nepal.  With the new bill of anti conversion laws in the new constitution of Nepal and eight young Christian people imprisoned because of sharing their faith in Christ, Nepal government now has made an announcement that every single Christian organization, institutions and even orphan children’s homes are not allowed to renew anymore their registrations because of the false allegations of conversion into Christianity.  Nepalese Christians can do nothing except cry out onto the Lord in prayer.  

In the midst of all of these hardships and trials, BTMP training continues for the local church pastors and leaders into the different regions of Nepal.  God’s word indeed is alive!  Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for your continuous prayer support for us.  

 

Sonam taught the BTMP curriculum to about 30 Christian leaders in Eastern Nepal, and Rita taught Technology and Your Family and Living with Your Emotions to the women’s leaders. 

Rita Kabo is on the Board Meeting of Federation of National Christian, Nepal.  Three major Christian national organizations (NCFN, NCS and FNCN) have decided to come together to voice to the government on behalf of Nepalese Christian Community of Nepal. Rita is Co-President of FNCN.

On the occasion of Teej celebration (Women’s celebration day in Nepal),Rita Kabo taught a full day to about 200 ladies on Living with Your Emotions in this women’s conference.  At the end of the conference, all ladies celebrated with dancing and fellowship.
