Encountering Christ Conference, Year 1, Old Testament

Bangkok,  Thailand  2013

The first Encountering Christ Conference for Vietnamese and Cambodian National Leaders was held in Bangkok, Thailand in April 2013.   Twenty of the countries’ top pastors and Christian leaders attended and were blessed by Jonathan Burnham’s teaching of the Old Testament portion of Encountering Christ.  They were so thrilled with the material that they anxiously await next year’s conference on the New Testament.   (See below for pictures and testimonies.)

Nepal Marriage Conference 2013

The second Nepal Encountering Christ Conference covering the New Testament was held this April, 2013.  Twenty of India and Nepal’s top national Christian leaders along with their wives attended to study and hear the teaching of the New Testament portion of Jonathan Burnham’s book, Encountering Christ.   The same group attended last year for the Old Testament portion.  Jonathan Burnham traveled to Kathmandu to conduct this second year teaching.  Sonam Kabo set up the conference, and his wife, Rita, taught the women.    It was an enriching time of fellowship, instruction and praising the Lord Jesus Christ!

Vitaliy Sorokun Travels to Armenia and Leads Christian Leaders’ Training Conference

Armenia Leaders’ Training Conference

Yerevan, Armenia 2012

Dr. Vitaliy Sorokun traveled to Yerevan, Armenia to lead a Christian Leader Training Conference for leaders from five area churches.  Historic and Biblical,  Mount Ararat, could be seen in the distance (see pictures below). This was the second time Dr. Sorokun has traveled to this country for training.  The timing and the setting of this conference were unique because these churches are in the planning stages to create their own Association. Therefore, it was very strategic to be with them and to introduce the BMI materials at this beginning stage. All material was welcome, needed, timely and practical, with plenty of illustrations from personal experience and ministry application, and therefore well received. The reviews were outstanding. On the other hand, there is such a great need for Christian training and education in Armenia, and the resources in the Armenia language are few, if any. Therefore, the brothers made sure that as many people as possible from their congregations also attended to learn and grow in the Lord. Burnham Ministries provided for the Armenian translation and printing of Care and Conflict Resolution and Christian Leader’s Home manuals. They will be greatly used in the days to come in the congregations.

 

Encountering Christ Material Being Taught In Belarus

Pastor Sergey Drozd from the city of Minsk, the capital of Belarus, who attended Encountering Christ Conference in Kharkov last October, taught Encountering Christ (Old Testament) at Minsk Bible College as part of Christology course. There are nine students in his program. They come from different churches in Belarus and some of them are leaders of small groups.
