In March 2017, Dr. Sorokun, BMI’s Regional Director for Eastern Europe, the former Soviet States, traveled to Minsk, Belarus, and to Novosibirsk, Russia, with the purpose of extending a partnership with the theological seminaries there.

He first visited Minsk Theological Seminary on the invitation of Dr. Leonid Mikhovich and conducted a training seminar based on BMI’s newest material Technology and Your Family. Dr. Sorokun also discussed the further implementation of the Women’s Ministries Program in Belarus and in the seminary in particular.

In Novosibirsk, where he traveled together with our Russian Ministry Partner pastor Sergey Naboychenko, the Superintendent of the Baptist Union of the Kaluga Region, Dr. Sorokun trained a group of local pastors and students of Novosibirsk Biblical Theological Seminary with Seven Steps of Christian Living and Technology and Your Family. Pastor Naboychenko also participated in training this group of leaders. They also had meetings with the President of the Seminary, Dr. Edward Genrikh, and the key seminary staff, Professor Igor Shaifulin and Pavel Shvetsov.
